The Triumph.
Old School Hardcore makes a comeback on the scene.

by Blake Cooper

The Triumph has a brand new sound. Or maybe it's an old sound.

The four-piece group, which cites artists from Bane and American Nightmare to Wu-Tang, KRS-One and Public Enemy, boasts an allegience to old school hardcore, a

style of music not exactly flooding the new music scene. "...old school hardcore has a genuine energy to it that we feel is lacking in a lot of bands today. Plus, it's a blast to play and see live," says bassist Shawn Carney. The group, which consists of Carney, Nick Lemesis on Drums, Rian Shannon on guitar, and Zach Clicquennoi on vocals, formed late last year, but hope to get ahead in 2005 with a six song, self-titled demo and a whole slew of live shows.
