My Model Railroad

Schumeyer Brewery Railroad (SBRR)

Schumeyer Brewery Railroad serves the brewery and two other busines on a spur off of the Baltimore and Ohio secondary. (see above map). The railroad provides switching operations for the brewery and the other two business for the B&O. In exchange, B&O gives them rights to the Secondary and the Beaver Run Yard and shops. Schumeyer Brewery Railroad runs locals and express freight to both terminalpoints of the secondary. The express freight is normally large cuts of beer reefers moving in or out of the brewery. Express freights use the big power of the line (Alcos or F-units). While the local run is a transfer move from the brewery to the Beaver Run yard and back. The B&O provides general freight for the brewery.

My B&O Operations

My B&O operations run through a small town called Beaver Run. Beaver Run has a population around 3,000. There is a small railroad yard where main line fright drop off cars for the local runs. Beaver Run is in between two cities, Rochester, NY and Pittsbugh, PA. Two passenger trains run from Beaver Run every day, one goes to Rochester and the other to Pittsburgh. There is one commuter run to Rochester each weekday morning and evening with a RDC. During the summer the B&O shedule special train run to Beaverland amusement park.

A train passes by Beaver Run about every 3 hours (sometimes more frequent) in between the hours of 6 am. to 10 pm. A local law prohibits trains run through the town during the night. Many of the train that come into Beaver Run carry the supplies to make and package beer. The town largest employer, Schumeyer's Brewery, provide up to 75% of the area's rail traffic.
