Partners Pool League begins October 13
By Jim Carignan - 9/19/02

The pool league at Partners bar in Minaville, NY will be starting the 2002 - 2003 season on Sunday, October 13. The season is scheduled to continue until Sunday, April 20, 2003. It costs $10 to sign up and you can sign up anytime before or during the season. Games can be played at anytime with other members of the league and only cost a dollar per player to play. Winners of each game receive points based on how many balls their opponent has remaining at the end of the game. The player with the most points at the end of the season wins $100, second place gets $75, and third place gets $50. Each player with at least 20 games played during the season also receives money based on how many total games were played in the league. The winner of last years league was Jason Tatlock who ended up taking home $221, not bad for a few months of fun.

Even though winning money could be fun, it is enough fun just to play, talk to friends, and have a drink at the bar. There is good music on the jukebox to listen to and the food is also delicious, including chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, and free buttered popcorn. If you are looking for a good time and possibly win a little money, join the pool league, and play often. Most of our past members play on Sunday nights but games can be played whenever the bar is open. For those who don't know, Partners diner and bar are located at 6278 State Highway 30, just 3 miles south of Amsterdam. The phone number is (518) 843-0855.
